That's us this morning! Yes, we spent another night at a Truck Stop. This time we are near the Port of Tacoma (Washington). So close, in fact, that I thought our little dog was whining to go out a THIRD time since midnight when I realized it was a seagull making an almost identical urgent whining sound. Good morning Tacoma!
I'm glad my mother-in-law does not go on the computer - she would be shaking her head right now to read this! Do you want to know why it was after midnight when we finally pulled into this Truck Stop? We tried to stay at an RV park that I cannot name lest we be sued for something. When calling to reserve a space I asked if they took the "Good Sam" card and they laughed, asking what that was. That was my first clue - but I was tired and I had never heard a response like that. Then I pulled into the RV Park. For those who are not familiar with RV lingo - "Good Sam" provides a grading system that alerts travelers about the condition of a camp before they arrive, and the cardholder gets a discounted rate. Let's just say the 'full hook-up' turned out to be only partial. Meaning their Dump Station was not working properly. 'Nuff said about that - this is a clean blog!
For the past two and one half years I joke with Mary each time she wakes up to see we are parked at another Truck Stop.
"Stick with me, I'll show you the WORLD!" Ahhh the glamorous life of full-time RV living! Are we tired? Yes. Are we still praying to know God's will? Yes - and we hope you are, too. Our life is like a merry-go-round... but so is yours.
None of us have the luxury of being able to coast along and maybe pray; maybe not pray. Those days are over.
It is absolutely critical to be about the total care of our children. Not just the physical care; we must include the spiritual care, too. I feel as though another piece of a puzzle has been put in place and it brings with it a simple way to hold loved ones (and enemies) in prayer throughout the day. There is not enough time this morning to explain in this posting but rest assured you will be hearing about this idea very soon.
It even includes a new song.
Those who know Mary's testimony will understand our request for prayers this morning. The "Aunt Mary" who called and invited her on a pilgrimage at a very critical time in her life is being buried today at 11:30 AM in the chapel at St. James Cathedral in downtown Seattle. People all over the country have heard about Aunt Mary and the blessing she was to my wife Mary.
Will you join us in praying for miraculous blessings in the lives of her surviving sister, Connie, (Mary's mother) and three children? Thank you in advance.
