Well, yes and no. This was the scene we saw through our RV windshield when we were in Flagstaff, AZ - but that was last year. Remember when we got stuck in a storm that ended up dumping around 30 inches of snow? Ah memories...
Right now it is sunny and 75 degrees. I just felt like putting up a snowy winter scene today. We are thanking God for all the blessings over the past year and for the fact that we get to stay pretty much in one area for about 5 to 6 weeks. You have no idea how wonderful that is for us. Our friend and pastor of this parish, tells us to count on a place to park and plug in for as long as we need to stop. He says it is one of the ways this community can support our efforts. Another Advent and Christmas in the RV - and believe it or not we are up for it. Yes, lately we've had a couple of days when we felt like we just could not continue full-time - but right now we can tell little by little we are being rejuvenated by old friends and familiar places.
Last Tuesday was our wedding anniversary and, just like last year, we are parked at the parish where we were married 14 years ago. We love the fact that our anniversary will always be in the Advent season. A season to renew the conversion of our hearts. It is what our marriage is all about - and hopefully yours, too.
I'm looking forward to posting more often and even adding a new refrain or two for you to download. To all our regular (and soon-to-be-regular) monthly supporters: We could not do this without you. We thank God for your encouragement and we beg his blessing to be upon you in these particularly uncertain times.
This first week of Advent I am thinking about how God waits for us...
... to quit pretending we cannot hear his voice
... to quit running in every direction
and if we cannot stop running.... run to him.
... to let him heal us, renew us, restore us, revive us, and finally
... to let him use us to lift a fallen world back onto the path of holiness
By our example.
By God's grace at work through our conversion.
Join us in allowing seeds of faith to continue being planted in the garden of our soul.
75 degrees or heavy snowfall - nothing can stop the seeds of miracles from growing
if we continue to say 'Yes'.
Please don't keep God waiting.
Say it; sing it; pray it -
I say 'Yes', my Lord.
May your will be done in me
according to your word.
Amen.
